“‘But what about you?’” he asked. ‘Who do you say I am?’ Peter answered, ‘You are the Messiah.’”
—Mark 8:29 NIV
There is no shortage of opinions about Jesus.
Your friends, family and coworkers all have their own ideas.
But just as Jesus asked his disciples in Mark 8, he also asks you and me: “Who do you say I am?”
Take a moment to reflect on who Jesus is.
He is the Messiah, God’s anointed king who was sent to save Israel.
He is Emmanuel, “God with us.”
He is God in the flesh.
He was sent to save the world from its sins and enable us to live in relationship with God, in his very presence.
Today, my question for you is this: who do you say that he is?
Here is a simple prayer to carry with you today:
Breathe in: Jesus,
Breathe out: I want to know you more.
