“I will give to the Lord the thanks due to his righteousness,
and I will sing praise to the name of the Lord, the Most High.”
—Psalm 7:17 ESV

In a world where so many people twist justice to serve their own selfish ambition, it is fitting to thank God for his righteousness.

Because he is impartial and just, and we can trust him.

In a world where it seems that the wicked prosper and the most vulnerable are taken advantage of, it is refreshing to know that God’s justice will win out in the end.

For he is the Most High, with no equal and none who can challenge his power.

This is hope for the oppressed and terror for those who oppress them.

And so we sing praise to the Lord, knowing that though creation groans now (Romans 8:22), the day will come when all wrongs are made right.

Here is a short prayer to help you invite God into every moment of your day:

Inhale: God,
Exhale: Thank you for your righteousness.
