“He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither.”
—Psalm 1:3a ESV
“In its season.”
These words are a refreshing reminder that we don’t have to cave in to the pressure of our society to constantly produce results.
Life consists of seasons. In some seasons we will see visible fruit, and in others we will not. And that is ok.
The tree in Psalm 1, which represents the person who “meditates day and night” on the word of God, is healthy. It is planted by streams of water and, regardless of the weather, has the sustenance it needs to grow strong and produce fruit.
Focus on your source. Let the Scriptures be food for your soul and spirit.
Don’t be angry with yourself if you’re not seeing the “results” you want at this moment. If you are healthy, the results will come in their season.
Carry this simple prayer with you today:
Breathe in: God,
Breathe out: Be my source.
