“By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household.”
—Hebrews 11:7a ESV
We’ve all heard the adage, “There’s nothing new under the sun” (see Ecclesiastes 1:9).
And yet Hebrews 11:7 tells us that God did something “as yet unseen” in the days of Noah. Something that had never happened before.
There may be nothing new under the sun, but we serve a God who is not contained by our solar system.
He can create something out of nothing and do things never seen before.
As we approach the start of a new year, let him give you hope for something new.
Here is a short prayer to carry with you today:
Breathe in: God of creation,
Breathe out: Do something new in me.
