“Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.”
—Psalm 51:11-12 NIV

Just like David, who wrote this Psalm, all of us have come to a point in our spiritual walk where we no longer feel joy in God’s salvation.

Whether due to our own errors or simply because we were inattentive to God’s ever-present Spirit, sometimes we find ourselves dry, tired and worn-out.

Whatever your situation may be, take a moment and simply pay attention.

Pay attention to how you feel: every emotion is a signal revealing a deeper truth about your well-being.

Slow down for a minute or two and listen to God’s Spirit, whose message is “very close at hand” (Deuteronomy 30:14 NTV).

Every day is an opportunity to start anew.

Let this simple prayer accompany you in your comings and goings today:

Breathe in: Restore to me
Breathe out: The joy of your salvation.
